Todd grew up in eastern Idaho where he enjoyed all things outdoors. After serving a mission in Taiwan for his church, where he learned Mandarin Chinese, he returned to Ricks College and earned an Associate degree in Business. He later a Bachelor degree in Marketing from Idaho State University. During these years he worked in radio as a sportscaster, program director and talk show host having the highest rated regional show those years. He also worked as a political consultant and ran his own marketing firm.
Todd left eastern Idaho to attend school at the University of Idaho College of Law. He graduated in 1998. During his years there, he was President of the University of Idaho Chapter of the Federalist Society and Chairman of the Technology Committee for the Student Bar Association. He was also selected to attend the national law student program for the Institute for Justice where he remains a member of the Human Action Network. In addition to being on the Dean’s List and the National Dean’s List, Todd was a semi-finalist in the Ray McNichol’s Moot Court competition, was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Local Government, and was twice named to Who’s Who Among America Law Students.
During his third year of law school, Todd accepted a job working as the Public Defender for the City of Clarkston, Washington, a position he kept until he was offered the job as the City Attorney for the City of Clarkston. Today, he is still a City Attorney for Clarkston and he prosecutes misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors for the cities of Clarkston and Asotin.
In 2009, Todd attended and graduated from the Trial Lawyers College. He remains active in the Eastern Washington Warriors, the local alumni association for the Trial Lawyers College. Only a select group of attorneys from around the nation are accepted to the Trial Lawyers College each year and attorneys who are accepted are trained in advanced trial skills.
Todd has been named an Honorary Chairman for the National Business Advisory Council, served on the Board of Directors of American Family Institute, has been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who, and Who’s Who Among American Business, named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023) and the National Association of Distinguished Counsel’s Nation’s Top 1 Percent (2021, 2022), and named a 2022 Elite Lawyer.
Todd is married with four children and three grand-children and his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He maintains his love of the outdoors and continues to enjoy hiking and camping with his family. He has been a football, wrestling and soccer coach for various youth teams and enjoys competing in triathlon races.
Todd is admitted to practice in Idaho, Washington, Nez Perce Tribal Court, Federal District of Idaho, Federal District for Eastern Washington, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court.
